About Us
EARTHTEC offers a broad range of civil construction & project management experience in road, rail, geotechnical, mining and coastal engineering projects to clients all around Australia and the Asia Pacific region including State Government Authorities, the Department of Defence and Local Government.
With Main Roads Prequalification to F20, R2 & B1 under the National Prequalification Scheme our client base is typically government based but also includes some of Australia’s largest companies such as BMA, BHP Billiton, Xstrata, Vale, most of the major civil construction contractors eg. Leighton, Downer, BMD, Fulton Hogan, John Holland, Transfield, and many of the mid-tier contractors.
EARTHTEC constantly evaluates and introduces new & emerging technologies to ensure our clients benefit from our experience & the World’s Best Practice.

Provide our clients with outstanding value
Applications
We are a specialist Construction Contractor with a broad range of expertise in: Civil & Geotechnical Engineering, particularly road works associated with landslide remediation, embankment stabilisation, retaining walls, reinforced earth structures, flood repairs, erosion control, rockfall protection, and landfill closures. With over 1000 completed projects throughout Australia & in the Asia Pacific Region Earthtec is well placed to your project requirements.
Civil
Civil and geotechnical engineering has been Earthtec’s core focus since the company was first established. Initial activities grew from erosion control & retaining wall projects to full scale landslip remediation, embankment stabilisation works and general civil works.
Opportunities to contribute to Australia’s civil infrastructure include major works for the SOPA at Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney International Airport, Landfill Remediation works in NSW and WA and the variety of projects detailed below.
In addition to general civil construction and related works. EarthTEC leads the way in wire mesh and geosynthetic construction and constantly evaluates and introduces new & emerging technologies to ensure our clients benefit from World’s Best Practice in civil engineering construction and ground modification. Through this approach Earthtec has developed close links with a range of system suppliers and is currently evaluating a variety of modular bridge systems to complement its existing road and civil engineering works.
Road
The Australian road network in many locations has been forged from traditional logging tracks through the Great Dividing Range in steep and unstable terrain. This historic and often uncontrolled cut to fill approach has created many areas, particularly on the east coast of Australia which are prone to landslip failures and run-off damage caused by poor drainage.
This feature of our coastal and inland road network provides a regular requirement for embankment & cutting stabilisation. Earthtec offers a variety of techniques for road remediation works including “Turnkey” design & construct solutions which have proven extremely popular with the various state road authorities, local councils, Recently NDRRA funded works have formed a large portion of this activity and include major embankment stabilisation and road remediation works to the Kennedy Highway & Bloomfield Road in Far North Queensland.
Similarly, the inland road network is plagued with flood damage particularly at river crossings and bridges where increased run-off and flood events often cause major damage to road related infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, causeways and levees. Earthtec has completed a number of culvert remediation works, causeways and bridge projects.
Rail
The rail network experiences very similar problems to Australia’s road infrastructure although the number of large scale landslip remediation works associated with the rail system is much lower. The opportunity to provide cutting stabilisation, rockfall protection systems and catch fences is still significant.
Earthtec’s team have been involved in a variety of different projects ranging from works in South Australia at the Noarlunga Cutting to Connors’ Range in North Queensland. As with roads our activities include “Turnkey” Design & Construction solutions for walls, reinforced earth, embankment and cutting stabilisation to contract works associated with the rail network station infrastructure including most recently work at Cardiff Station, NSW involving earthworks, drainage and retaining walls.
River
Increased surface run-off, more intense rainfall and recent cyclone events have resulted in major damage to property and infrastructure constructed in or near Australia’s rivers and creeks.
The normal river dynamics of erosion and deposition when combined with increased urban development within traditional floodplain areas present a major challenge to planners and engineers.
River or creek embankment failures are common place and require careful remediation to ensure the hydraulic and ecological characteristics of the stream flow are not adversely affected by the construction of bank remediation works necessary to restore lost property or protect buildings from future flood related erosion damage.
These river works are often also combined with road repairs and the restoration of land and services adjacent to the water course. Earthtec’s considerable experience with wire mesh and geosynthetics construction techniques has proven extremely helpful in addressing river and creek works and include large floodway repairs, weirs, drop structures, groynes and cascade structures.
Marine
Earthtec has been involved in a number of significant coastal & marine projects. Most notably although now totally hidden from view is the Bondi Beach Seawall protection revetment. Designed to protect the iconic Bondi Seawall from undermining and collapse in the event of a major beach erosion event this structure extends along much of the concrete wall which forms the support to one of Australia’s most famous beach promenades.
The Mollymook Seawall constructed for similar purposes and the challenging work at Green Island constructing the Beach Revetment adjacent to the jetty using “Honeycomb SeaBees” for the ecofriendly friendly Barrier Reef Resort. This work proved to be doubly challenging as it required the management of both the tidal seawater levels and the high coral island ground water.
Mining
The mining industry is one of the biggest industries in Australia and often requires construction. Due to some of the remote locations many problems commonly occur. EarthTEC has participated in both international and local mining projects, with projects ranging from; Gabions and Rockfall Netting to Mass Gravity Retaining Structures and Shotcreting.
Past projects have included Goro Nickel (New Caledonia) ROM Wall in Soroaka (Indonesia) and many others in Australia. We offer a multitude of services to suit your project, Such as our Reinforced Soil Walls, Rock Mattresses, Gabions, GCL Geomembranes and much more.
Landscaping
Earthtec has pioneered the use of woven mesh products “gabions” in the Australian Landscape market and has completed most of the successful such constructions in recent years including Svarmisk Resort, Waverton Park, Waverly Park (the Mirvac prestige redevelopment of the former AFL Ground), the Five Star Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island and the 3.5km long, free standing, combined landscape & flood wall at the iconic Flemington Race Course which presents an impressive backdrop along the finishing straight in November, each year at the Melbourne Cup.
Attention to detail and highly experienced construction crews have enabled Earthtec to establish a well justified reputation for high quality work in this challenging market and we have been rewarded with repeat business from existing clients and from discerning new clients seeking the confidence that the completed work will meet their exacting aesthetic requirements.
